TURTLE SHACK

Description:                 We are located on the eastern end of Roatan in Calabash Bight and are accessible by water only.  Our accommodations are simple but comfortable and most likely more appealing to those seeking a peaceful get-away.  The Turtle Shack is a 25’ x 16’ studio type bungalow that includes a daybed (2 twin beds), a kitchen with dining table, bathroom, and screened porch.  It is situated on the water with a private dock where there is also an outside rinse down shower. (See pictures below)

Rental Pricing:

Weekly:                       1687.11 Lempiras plus 12% sales tax (total equals $100.00)

Monthly:                      6748.25 Lempiras plus 12% sales tax (total equals $400.00)

Reservations:              To secure guaranteed rental, $100.00 non-refundable deposit required (will be applied to rental price)

Electricity:                   The shack is on solar power with the exception of the air conditioner. If AC is run, we will charge for kilowatt usage (Current charges are 5.7 lempiras per KWH ($.21 KWH)

Water:                         150 gallons of water is provided for weekly rental and 600 gallons for monthly.  If water limit is exceeded, more can be purchased for $10.00 per 100 gallons (this is the minimum amount available for purchase). RO drinking water can be purchased for 5 Lempiras a gallon ($.26)

Amenities:           

Kitchen:                       Full size refrigerator/freezer,  sink, dish drainer, two burner stove, pots, pans, tea kettle, coffee press, dishes, silverware, glasses, mugs, 5 gallon water dispenser, dish towels and cooking utensils

Bed/Bath:                    Sheets, pillows, and bath towels provided (Please bring your own beach towels)

Other:                          Clothes washer/clothes line and hammock on screened porch.  Wifi access is available – pricing upon request

                                     We can assist in arranging diving and snorkeling excursions, and transportation to other parts of the island

                                     Warnings for those unaccustomed to island life: 

                                    The air conditioning unit in the shack in not operational at this time.  The temperature normally ranges from 75 to 85 degrees and ceiling fans provide ample cooling for those who are comfortable with warm and semi-humid climates. 

                                 Turtlegrass is water access ONLY.  This means that all transportation to and from our property is by boat. You will either be transported in our launch (when available) or by  water taxi.  Remember, this includes carrying all luggage, groceries, and miscellaneous items.  If you are physically limited or have health issues that would make it difficult to climb in and out of boats and navigate stairways (with personal items in tow), then Turtlegrass may not be the place for you.

                                    Sorry but NO pets allowed.  You might have the best behaved animal companion, but OUR dogs will not tolerate visiting dogs or cats.  Speaking of which, you must be able to tolerate our dogs guarding and roaming the property.  They are a necessity here and will be your best friend during your stay with us.
